“Mass Hysteria”

What These Girls Are Experiencing Is Not a Physical Illness but a Psychological Disorder!..

The series that have not left the social media agenda for several weeks, and that have newly come onto the screens of the people of the chained flat country, caught my attention. I wanted to form an idea about these series, on different TV channels, which are drawn from the works in which a famous psychiatrist wrote down his professional experiences. I watched their summaries and followed the comments a little. And in addition to this there is “Ethos / Bir Başkadır”, which is at the very top of Netflix’s hottest agenda.

As a society we have, all together, crossed the limits. Those who recognise their problems and, taking refuge with all their strength in their self-confidence, apply to a clinic truly deserve to be congratulated. And what of those who are not aware, or who are aware but cannot go; are they many? Yes, and so very many indeed. As of tomorrow all the people of the flat country will also be joining that great multitude whose number we cannot know; let every one of us be informed, as plain as a bonny newborn babe.

As the people of the flat country we have, all together, really caught an illness at last! Its name: “Mass psychogenic illness” or “epidemic hysteria“

When one reflects on psychological health, the specialists in this field tirelessly go on investigating whether it is a biological condition or whether mental health needs to be approached from a different angle. For these specialists, I think, the real work began in 2020. While Covid-19 had had its name written on every hill and stone as a biological ailment, all of a sudden, under the name “the Gold-Crowned 2020 Red Corona”, it turned itself into a mental dead end, an incomprehensible ailment.

So far everything is fine; we have made our own diagnosis, our self-confidence is in place, so what should we do now?

Do not worry, we have carried out a short piece of research on behalf of us all. We said that we would surely come across a situation experienced in the past, on which specialists had archived their findings, and so it turned out. We came upon a very strange story.

In 2006 a very mysterious illness breaks out, affecting the girl pupils staying at a boarding school near Mexico City. This school, run by Catholic nuns, is one of the 10 schools in Asia and Latin America of an organisation with a name something like World Villages for Children in Asia. These girls, aged between 12 and 17, begin to show very strange symptoms. The most marked are difficulty in walking, fever and nausea. After the girls return from the 10-day Christmas holiday, these symptoms begin to be seen in others too, in a downright epidemic, and in the end these symptoms are identified in 600 of the 3,600 girls. 600 girls, out of the blue, cannot walk, run a fever and vomit.

Since the cause is not understood, health officials from the state naturally become involved in the matter. Yes, as you have guessed: back then, in just the same way, they say to a handful of people who had no idea they had been set up as one, congratulations, you are now a scientific board, and turn them loose on the empty square.

For a long time the officials carry out countless medical tests, investigate all the facilities inch by inch and interview all the girls. But they cannot find any illness that could cause these symptoms. Ah! What these scientific boards have had to go through in every age, have they not?

And at the end of, once again, lengthy investigations, debates and consultations with various institutions of the flat country, they reach the day on which the diagnosis can be made.

“What these girls are experiencing is not a physical illness but a psychological disorder”, they say.

By its scientific name, mass psychogenic disorder. By its other name, collective hysteria or mass (epidemic) hysteria.

It is a situation with hardly any parallel, but anyone who wishes may look into it; you can find that the same illness was very much on the agenda at far earlier dates too.

This disorder, that is, mass hysteria, is generally known by the mysterious spread of various symptoms of illness without any definite cause. It can mostly manifest itself in isolated groups and communities closed to the outside. Young people, and young girls in particular, are among the groups most affected. What makes this illness spread quickly is being in tense surroundings with a high level of stress when there is fear of catching an illness that has made a name for itself.

As we have said, there are only some 80 known cases, occurring in many countries of the flat world, as examples of this rare condition. The environment at the boarding school in Mexico, too, was apparently one that suited the conditions we have mentioned very well. What is described is a setting closed to the outside, highly disciplined and with a high level of stress. Imagine a condition in which communication with the outside, and even with the children’s own families, is very restricted. They can visit their families at set times. But apart from that, even speaking on the telephone is forbidden to them. I suppose they had our famous globally branded mask clamped tight over their mouths.

And what happened to these girls afterwards? After this diagnosis was made, the families were naturally allowed to take their children home, and all the symptoms quickly disappeared.

Today is exactly the time to think! If we are in no state to think, this news is not good at all. It means that we have all caught the mass hysteria of 2021.
