The fifth International Loneliness Symposium organised by Üsküdar University was held online on 16 December 2023 under the theme “Loneliness in Working Life”. With participants from Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and India, the meeting highlighted that people with strong social ties live healthier lives.
Dr. Tansel Tercan, listed in the programme with Antalya Bilim University and Rixos Astana, presented a paper in the second session together with Dr. Nurfer Tercan on workplace loneliness in the tourism sector. The presentation stressed that people are mentally crowded yet physically alone, and that loneliness produces individuals who suffer.
