Dr. Nurfer Tercan of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University presented a paper at the 5th International Loneliness Symposium, held online by Üsküdar University on 16 December 2023. Delivered in the second session of the symposium, whose theme this year was “Loneliness in Working Life”, the study examined the loneliness experienced at work by people employed in the tourism sector.
The presentation, which Nurfer Tercan prepared together with Dr. Tansel Tercan, stated that people today are crowded in mind but alone in body, and that this produces people who suffer. The symposium also heard that one in three people in Turkey often feels lonely.
